As a G.I. Bill and Yellow Ribbon college, we at Bryan College are strongly committed to our military students. We want to make a quality education as accessible as possible through our schools in Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri. To help you reach your career goals, Bryan College offers you a number of options, and we invite you to use our site as a resource to learn more about the assistance programs that may help change your life! As a G.I. Bill and Yellow Ribbon college, we honor Air Force benefits, Army benefits, Coast Guard benefits, Marine Corps benefits, Navy benefits as well as military spouse benefits. It is our ultimate goal to give service members the opportunity to go to college.
Some of your veteran’s benefits may include:
Montgomery G.I. Bill - Active Duty & Veteran: MGIB provides up to 36 months (four regular school years)of education benefits to eligible veterans for college, business, technical, vocational or correspondence courses. Active-duty members who have served at least two years on active duty and veterans can qualify for these benefits.
Montgomery G.I. Bill - Selected Reserves: MGIB provides up to 36 months (four regular school years) of education benefits to eligible veterans for college, business, technical, vocational or correspondence courses. Active-duty members who have served at least two years on active duty and veterans can qualify for these benefits.
Loan Repayment (LRP): Your service may partially or fully repay college loans. Typically, this is for enlisted members only. Factors such as your branch, MOS and terms of your contract will determine your eligibility.
Tuition Assistance "Top-Up" Program: This benefit is intended to supplement other tuition assistance programs such as the G.I. Bill. The benefit is available for all courses that began on or after October 30, 2000. To be eligible, you must be approved for federal tuition assistance by a military department and be eligible for MGIB - Active Duty benefits.
Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP): These benefits can be used toward degree, certificate, correspondence or apprentice/on-the-job training programs and vocational flight training programs. If you meet all these requirements, you may qualify:
- Entered service for the first time between January 1, 1977 and June 30, 1985
- Opened a contribution account before April 1, 1987
- Contributed $25-$2,700
- Completed first period of service
- Discharge/release was not dishonorable
Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance Program (DEA): These education and training opportunities are available to eligible dependents of certain veterans. These benefits may be used for degree and certificate programs, apprenticeships, and on-the-job training. You must be the son, daughter or spouse of a service member who died, is missing or was permanently disabled while on duty or as a result of a service-related condition.
Work-Study Program: If you’re a full-time or ¾-time student in a college degree program or a vocational or professional program, you can “earn while you learn” with a VA work-study allowance. These benefits are available to persons training under one of the VA benefit programs:
- G.I. Bill
- Vocational Rehabilitation (for veterans)
- VEAP
- DEA
- Dependents may also be eligible
Tutorial Assistance Program: You may qualify for tutorial assistance for programs you are having difficulty with. If you are receiving VA benefits at a half-time or more rate, you are eligible.
